CONCISE ,CONSISTENT BOUNDARIES MAKE A PATIENT FEEL SAFE

The most unethical thing Dr. Geist did, other than encourage a sexual relationship between me and my other psychologist was to to have inconsistent boundaries. You cannot get angry and frustrated at a patient because she expects the same treatment you have given her for years. YOU, Dr. Geist laid the ground-work for the patient's expectations in the beginning of treatment. If I feed the baby coyotes outside every day and then one day get angry when I see a pack of full-grown coyotes blocking my doorway expecting their food I am only to blame myself! Now, instead of hunting for their own food they are reliant upon me to feed them. I not only aggravate myself, I harm the coyotes by making them defenseless in the wild and dependent upon people!!!

At first Dr. Geist was available 24/7, on weekends, vacations and at night! I called him at 2 am on his vacation and he told me he was happy to hear my voice!! He always returned my phone calls and emails as well as let me sit next to him on the couch and stroke his arm and lay with him on the floor and sit in his lap. I had been inside his house and workshop. Then he grew tired of this constant attention that he kept giving me and shamed me by saying that I was "too demanding"/"too intense"/"wanted too much attention" He told me that he burned out on me. So, he withdrew EVERYTHING! Even refused to give me a whole "50-minute" session!!! He breadcrumbed me, only allowing scraps of his time.

As a result of this "switch" I felt completely abandoned and turned into an alcoholic at 50!!! He retraumatized me all over again, just like in my childhood with my schizophrenic father! My dad would appear calm one minute and then the next frightened me by his ragefully, psychotic outbursts! I have NEVER recovered from my childhood (what I originally went to Dr. Geist for) and now I have another problem with alcohol and trust and PTSD brought on by Dr. Geist!! I have turned into an alcoholic loner. I need to get this message across to patients and other professionals! DO NO HARM! The patient is already hurting when they enter therapy - DO NOT MAKE IT WORSE!!
