Glossary

This glossary has been taken from ?a?ī? al-Bukhārī for the benefit of the reader. It covers the words which are present in the Noble Qur’ān.

Al?Ghurr-ul-Mu?ajjalūn (???? ????????) A name that will be given on the Day of Resurrection to the Muslims because the parts of their bodies which they used to wash in ablution will shine then.

Ghusl (?????) A ceremonial bath. This is necessary for one who is Junub, and also on other occasions. This expression ‘taking a bath’ is used in this book with the special meaning of Ghusl mentioned here.

?abal-ul-?abala ( ??? ?????? ) There were two forms of this trade called ?abalul??abalah. The example of the first form is that to buy an offspring of an animal which itself is yet to be born by making the payment in advance. Second form is to sell an animal on condition to have the offspring of the sold animal. Both forms of this kind of transaction are prohibited.
