The concept of "extra terrestrial" as per Hinduism

#newdaynewchapter is a Blog narrative started on March 1, 2021 co-founded by Kishore Shintre & Sonia Bedi, to write a new chapter everyday for making "Life" and not just making a "living"
Hinduism and Buddhism both have a rich cosmology with 8,400,00 species of life given as the total. It claims there are 400000 humanoid species that range from our form of human to other higher and lower realm humanoid beings. Aliens however, aren’t anything other than something we don’t know. The Purana and other shastra tell us names of a few such as:
Kinnara: (These are half-human half-animals like satyrs, centaurs etc)
Gandharva: (celestial musician angels who feed of Sweet smells)
Apsara: (celestial nymphs)
Siddha: (celestial sages, yogis, and celibates)
Bhutas: (different types of subtle ghostly bodied beings)
Pishacha: (vampy=ire like beings)
Pretas: (subtle witch like beings)
Jin: (This is a large class of beings with many many varieties and forms)
Naga: ( celestial serpents, dragons etc)
Dakinis: (Another type of female witch like being)
Grahas: ( the subtle beings that are the personifications of plants and stars)
Devas: (light beings)

Asuras: (dark beings)
All of the above would be called Alien to us as there are many many varieties of beings we do not know and cannot perceive within ordinary states of consciousness, some can be felt and/or seen in trance like states or under the influence of psychedelics. Unfortunately that technology was last with Buddhism due to repeated attacks by Mughal emperors/British rule. I am sounding it as technology but this is related meditation techniques. Now there are infinite number of planets as per our latest scientific technologies and this we got to know only from last century through series scientific break through.
All grown who as Hindu’s already know that our puranas talk about our solar system (Nava Grahas) and the universe way back from 5000 Years. We as Hindu’s kids grown watching all our epics Ramayana/Mahabharat. If you watched carefully you should have already known there are so many planets/Solar systems and Brahma is different for different solar systems. by the time Hindu kids become teenagers we already have seen all things and later confirm from our science when we go to the higher level of education.
If you watched Lord Krishna story carefully. Lord brahma (creator/manager of our own solar system) abducts Lord Krishna friends to teach some lesson out of his own Ego/pride/ignorance. Knowing all this Lord Krishna manages entire show at Brindavan with his maya (for more than 1 year). Lord Brahma becomes angry and decides to fight with Lord Krishna. Finally Krishna makes Lord Brahma (our solar system) to recall everything. in this event infinite number of Brahmas who are managing different solar system come to our earth (seeing this our solar system Brahma astonishes and then realize supreme God Krishna).
Here you need to understand the summary behind narration. Summary : There are infinite number of solar systems. For Every solar system there is one lord brahma who is managing the entire show indirectly it is given message that there is life in other planets. This is for my Hindu friends/kids, Try to read the our epics in the above sense . then you will realize how we are superior to other religions. our ancestor always tried to tell things in stories. you have to understand essence. then you will realize our latest science advancements are tiny in-front of what been told from 5000 years as stories. And one more thing I will share here, If you watch/read carefully our epics always talk about 9 planets (Navagrahas) in all Purana’s (It can be any Purana) and these stories were taught to our Hindus way back from 5000 years. only in the last century it was declared that there are 9 planets in our solar system as per the science. hope you understand what I mean.
We are ignoring our epic stories which are full of science. every story tells there other people coming from other planets. Its true. If you read Hindu puranas it was discussed clearly about higher level planets and travel between the planets. Hinduism has always taught the concept of multiverses and multiple dimensions in a vast cosmic ocean of trillions upon quadrillions of planetary systems and of course the existence of alien life in abundance out there. So not being confined and restricted by an Adam & Eve myth and a 6 days geocentric creation fable, we would welcome any aliens who landed as honoured guests and fellow jīvas (sentient beings) in our common ocean of samsara (cyclic existence).
(And of course we would be able to communicate with them in Sanskrit! Ask Paramahamsa Nityananda who has recently revealed that he is an alien and the earth is hollow! - the rest of his discourse is incomprehensible proving that he is an alien!! He also claims that he will soon make cows and other animals speak in Sanskrit and Tamil. Hinduism believes in the possibility of life in some planets in space outside solar system. Some great Hindu spiritual masters are said to have attained kingship of star like pole star e.g. Dhruva. The Earth is just one of the Lokas, the other Lokas being heaven above and Patal below. Krishna is said to live in Golak Dham. Hindu Gods can appear before devotees in response to their prayer. They are obviously extra-terrestrial beings.
But these beliefs are not essential for self-realization which is the goal of Hinduism. In Hinduism, Atman or Brahman is the only ultimate reality which is beyond time and space. All else is transitory. First we have to understand the definition of “Extra-terrestrial”. It literally means “Not of this Earth”. By that definition there were many many entities that could be categorized as such. There is also the concept of Lokas that has not been understood yet. There are 14 lokas that are known to exist according to Hinduism.
The number 7 is the Bhu-loka, which is Earth. Each of the lokas are inhibited by beings. Some are born in those lokas based on their karmic balance of previous lives while some evolve into them by their yogic powers through meditation and penance. Unlike other religions, there is no separation between humans and other beings. Every living organism, no matter how small and insignificant, has a soul and is capable of transmigrating into an advanced form of body like a human or higher beings after death, depending on its karma balance.
There were existence of much more variety of intelligent life forms here on Earth according to Hinduism. Vanaras (Ape people), Kinnaras (bird people) and many other forms. Some of these lokas are only accessible though meditation. Even Buddhists have confirmed the existence of these dimensions and some meditators are capable of visiting these places. Sanatana Dharma mainly talks about the highest thing from which proceeds all things including the extraterrestrial thing. Therefore the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita does not mention anything about the physical world.
Shrimad Bhagwad Gita which is considered to be the words of Supreme Lord Krishna talks about the science of the inner self of an individual. From there it establishes the supreme thing that creates everything. The physical thing becomes physical due to the inner self or Atman of a being. You are alive, so you are thinking and imagining, therefore, the thing that keeps you awake and alive is higher than all. Yes, the Vedas mention about the external world or natural strengths such as fire, electricity, planets, and galaxies. The Puranas also mention many things about the physical world. Sages and ancient scientists do mention about planets and other things but no such thing is mentioned about extraterrestrials. Hinduism only talks about the root that creates all and preaches to be one with all.
Modern age Alien theory is limited, where as ancient Hindu theory for alien is descriptive and with so many event based evidences which is incomparable with modern age. Devatas, Daityas, Yaksha, Nag, Garuda, Vanaras are some category of Aliens which are mentioned in so many texts. As per my views: What we hear today As Nagas might be a hybrid generation of Nag. Karna: hybrid of sun category alien. Arjun : hybrid of Indra category alien. Yudhishthira : hybrid of Yam category alien. Nakul-Sahadeva : hybrid of Ashwin category alien. Bhima : hybrid of Vayu category alien. it is mentioned somewhere they interact with human, they establish relations with human and some time they gave birth to Hybrid also. What happened to them, we can not know, but we may be the hybrid generations of those aliens.Jay Shri Krishna

2 年Great post, Kishore. Simply wonderful. There is also a loka called Vasu. Bhishma( Bhismacharya) belonged to Vasuloka. It could be similar to yaksha or Gandharva loka.
Nice share, Sir
