Comton Cup 2024

The Comton Cup is ALMOST here!

So here is the final event information (please share this with any team members)

Event Details:

• Date: June 23, 2024
• Start Time: 11:00 AM
• Registration: From 9:30 AM

Schedule:

• Reception Opens: 9:30 AM (we will be onsite from 9am)
• Briefing: 10:45 AM (15-minute session)
• Kick-Off: 11:00 AM
• Lunch: Provided by Nando’s
• Event End: 4:00 - 4:30 PM (approximately)

Participants:

We are thrilled to welcome 32 teams from the Metals and Engineering Sectors of the UK to this years' event.

We expect there to be almost 250 players, and we welcome you to bring your colleagues as well as family and kids along to experience the day.

We have a live DJ on site and we'll have activities and competitions for the kids, so bring them along.

The food is pre ordered and will be for players only. Should any spectators want food, you will need to use the food establishments at Star City.

Tournament Structure:

1. Group Stage:32 teams divided into groups (Group Details will be announced at the event).Each group will play 5-7 fixtures depending on the group structureMatches will be approximately 6-8 minutes depending on group size.
2. Knockout Stage:Post-lunch, teams will compete in either the Comton Cup or Comton Shield knockout tournaments.

Children’s Activities:

There will be one or two pitches set aside for children’s competitions, including: - Crossbar competitions - Dribbling competitions - Penalty competitions amongst others.

Prizes will be awarded to participants.

Kit Information:

• All kit is now ordered (shorts, socks and shirts). These will be branded with your business logos and will be available at event sign in.
• We have had some last minute changes, BUT we cannot make further amendments. For teams that did not specify a kit size, we have ordered 5 x Large and 2 x XL size kits with shorts and socks.
• All kits will be distributed on arrival at goals.
• Each player will receive a kit bag?with their branded?JOMA Kits, a bottle of Lucozade and bottles of water.

Weather Advisory:

• The past two years have been very hot. We will have more water available at the event, but we suggest bringing additional water and sun protection.
• A bar will be available on-site for refreshments.

Parking:

• Location: Goals, Star City, Birmingham.
• Address: 32 Watson Rd, Nechells, Birmingham B7 5SA
• Spaces: Over 2000 car park spaces are available.
• Electric Vehicle Charging: Located on the far left-hand side for Tesla and other electric vehicles.
• Note: ANPR is in operation for monitoring only; no payment required.

Footwear:

• Allowed: Trainers, astro turf trainers, or moulded studs (12 studs or more).
• Not Allowed: Metal studs, Rubber blades or Metal Blades are not allowed.

Charity/Raffle:

• LoveBrum is our charity partner for this year.
• All donations will be entered into the raffle, and we can take card?payments this year which should help us cross the threshold of raising more than ￡10,000 since we started fundraising at this event.
• Raffle Prizes:?As always we NEED YOUR HELP. Please bring raffle prizes so we can raise as much?money as possible for charity.

Food:

• Food will be provided by Nando's for the players only.
• The food is PRE ORDERED and cannot be amended on the day.

Dietary Requirements

We have had very few dietary requests for this year's event.

If you require a vegetarian option OR you have a dietary requirment for a team member we need to know by Tuesday 18th June 2024 as food is pre ordered for this event and CANNOT be amended.

• Please advise if your team has any specific dietary requirements.
