Computing Biology redux
If you have followed my blog over the past couple of months (here) you know what I like to write about: Computational Biology and Machine Learning, applied primarily to drug discovery and the better understanding of disease biology, with occasional departures into ODE modeling and statistics. I wanted to turn that blog into something different, and so I thought of the idea of these newsletters. I will be playing around with the cadence (e.g., as I look for my next opportunity the cadence may be shorter), and I will try to not re-hash too much of what I have already shared in the blog.
In this redux process have thought of including additional sections that I will try to make them as recurrent as possible: cool paper of the month, what I am reading, news from the industry, conferences and seminars (don't hesitate to share some if you want me to do a shoutout). Additionally, and this will be harder, I will try to invited contributors (put your name in the hat!) and folks that can talk to us about cool tools that are driving a lot of innovation in CBML (I'm looking at you Rani Powers, PhD , Simon Adar , Steve Gately , and Lily Man ).
This will be light hearted with the occasional deep dive into some new package, algorithm, while aiming to bridge the dry and wet lab research.
I'm excited for this next phase of Computing Biology and I hope you will tag along this journey!
