This year’s?Computex conference?in Taiwan was ablaze with anticipation as Nvidia’s Chief Executive,?Jensen Huang, graced the stage to unveil the next era of computing. Speaking to the throngs of tech enthusiasts and industry experts, he announced the dawn of a world where “everyone is a programmer.”

AI: The New Computing Era

In his powerful address, Huang elucidated his vision of the tech industry’s future, saying, “We have reached the tipping point of a new computing era“. This new era, according to Huang, will be driven by AI, which has drastically lowered the entry barrier to computer coding. “This is the future of video games. AI will contribute to the rendering and synthesis of the environment, but it will also animate the characters.”

Nvidia also made waves with its announcement of a strategic partnership with Japan’s?SoftBank, reinforcing data centre operators’ reliance on its products.

Challenges Ahead

While Nvidia is blazing a trail in AI, the company isn’t without challenges. Huang acknowledged the complications arising from US export controls that aim to limit Chinese technological progress, following the ban on shipments of the A100 chip — the predecessor to the H100 — to China last October.
