Compute, AI, and Connectivity

Welcome to Intel IQ! This Intel newsletter will offer insights through thought leadership and our unique business POV on the opportunities and challenges we all face in the ongoing digital revolution. In the months to come, we’ll dive into topics like manufacturing and product leadership, the value of open ecosystems, everything AI, and more.

----------------------

For more than 50 years, Intel has had a profound influence on the world, driving business?and society forward with radical innovation. From the invention of the very first semiconductor to the Xeon processor that supports cloud customers around the globe, we helped usher in the digital age. But the world — and the way we all live — continues to change exponentially.

AI is revolutionizing everything, demand for silicon is off the charts, and availability has become a critical economic issue. The world desperately needs to revolutionize its approach to manufacturing, to push relentlessly toward innovation, and to bring AI everywhere. And Intel finds itself in a unique position to deliver.

?

Manufacturing?and foundry leadership?

The world needs silicon — and a lot of it. But delivering on that demand has been stifled by the fact that most of the world’s silicon manufacturing takes place in one small corner of the globe. Without a more sustainable supply chain, automotive companies, for example, will continue to see entire production lines stalled while waiting for a single chip to be delivered from halfway around the world. As one of the only semiconductor companies that operates its own manufacturing facilities around the world, we recognized an opportunity to use our own foundries to begin producing chips for other design houses — closer to home. Intel’s role within the broader ecosystem has?never been more critical in re-establishing stability and resiliency?around the world.?

?

Moore’s Law

As stewards of Moore’s Law, we’re committed?to accelerating more powerful computing at an?exponential pace, including the charge toward?quantum innovation. Even as we continue to invest in turning that dream into reality, we’re simultaneously working to rethink the way existing chips are manufactured. Armed with our full pipeline of research, thousands of people are collaborating to keep driving progress, responding to new customer needs, new applications, and delivering more capabilities at less cost. With IDM 2.0, we’re driving value in silicon,?software, platforms, packaging, and at-scale?manufacturing that customers depend on for?next-generation solutions.?Moore’s Law only stops when innovation stops — and we remain undeterred in our aspiration to deliver approximately 1 trillion transistors in a single device by 2030.

?

Bringing AI everywhere

From autonomous vehicles and medical equipment to everyday devices like laptops and smart watches, the thirst to incorporate AI into every facet of our lives has never been greater. To get there, we must foster an open, educated ecosystem to drive new ideas and possibilities. Innovation and inspiration can come from anywhere but requires diverse minds and experiences. Intel is taking these meaningful discussions to leading academic institutions around the world and incorporating AI curriculum at the college, high school, and even junior high levels. Expanding AI knowledge will help remove barriers, bring these new ideas to life, and transform how we live every day. ?

With the right foundation, ideas can go?anywhere and everywhere — and it starts with Intel. Subscribe now to follow what Intel is doing to help improve the lives of every person on the planet.?
