Compression Ignited (CI) Engine Life & Maintenance

Life of "CI" is mainly depending on what compression pressure produces in power stroke of engine in each cylinder, which is mainly depending on quality & quantity of air & fuel that is pushed inside for combustion.

Hence maintenance team should ensure the quality & quantity of air & fuel. This possible by means of followings;

• Usage of quality filters, both air & fuel filters
• No leakage of air, fuel & exhaust gas. Mainly in gaskets & joints
• Filters having self-life, needs to notice before fitting in engine
• Storage of these filters also plays important role, needs kept in dust free area, packed as per "OEM" recommendations.
• Fuel injectors & pump needs to be calibrated as per "OEM" recommendations which ensure quantity of fuel during combustion
• Air coolers & radiators ensure proper functioning during engine operation, means fins needs to clean properly with dry air
• Ensure flow pattern of air, exhaust gas & fuel should not disturb while engine operation.

Please note uneven combustion pressure will exert uneven pressure on engine parts, which will lead to premature & finally fails engine, at most care is must for getting best life for engine.
