I'm a big fan of Kindles and I read a ton—like, seriously, a lot. I easily go through at least 60 books a year. But when it comes to self-development books, I've found that taking notes is crucial. Sure, you can do it on the e-reader, but for some reason, I'm just not into it.
So, I made a simple choice: I decided to buy the actual book and go old school with highlighting and note-taking. This approach helps me understand and apply what I learn better. I mean, reading a hundred self-development books is pointless if you don't put the principles into action. You might as well reread Harry Potter.
This year, I've set a straightforward goal for myself: one self-development or business book per month. I'll read it, write an article about it, and create an infographic. Starting with January, this is my pick for the month.
