The Act amends a series of legislation to ensure that the country further complies with international standards on anti-money laundering and combatting the financing of terrorism and proliferation. This article highlights one major change which the Amending Act brings, and this concerns beneficial ownership information. Impact of the Climate Change Act on the Agriculture Sector
More than six years after it was first released for public comment, the Climate Change Act 22 of 2024 (Act) was signed into law by President Ramaphosa on 23 July 2024. Importantly, the Act has yet to commence and will come into operation on a date to be proclaimed by the President in the Government Gazette. The purpose of the Act is to enable the development of an effective climate change response and a long-term, just transition to a low-carbon and climate resilient economy and society for South Africa in the context of sustainable development.
