The CAPM Training based on the new exam content outline from PMI West Bengal chapter concluded today. This training was planned for 4 days, over 2 consecutive weekends between 10 th and 18 th June 2023. There were 12 aspirants from academia and industry, who had registered for the training.
PMI’s CAPM Exam Content Outline (ECO) now comprises 4 domains viz. Project
Management Fundamentals and Core concepts, Predictive, Plan driven methodologies, Agile Framework methodologies and Business Analysis Frameworks. Such a focus enables aspirants with little or no project management experience to hone the skills of project management both in predictive and adaptive methodologies, Agile way of working and finally
techniques to develop contextual knowledge of the business, to deliver value for the stakeholders.
For the students, such a training improves the job readiness with the knowledge of project management even before they graduate and they would also acquire 21st century work and life skills by building project management competency. For the industry professionals, this training will enable to understand and appreciate the nuances of project management and align themselves better with the project manager in their respective projects, thus accelerating the career growth.
By attending and completing the training, the participants would receive 23 contact hours certificate from the chapter. Since these contact hours do not expire, participants could avail themselves of the option to appear for CAPM certification any time in the future when they find it value adding and relevant to their area of work. In the meantime, they could leverage the knowledge gained from the training in their day-to-day work.

On behalf of the PMI West Bengal chapter, would like to convey our heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation for Neelam Jha, Shemanti Sen, Kalidas K R and Sankha Subhra Choudhury for their volunteering effort in preparing the content at a task level of the respective domains. This was then rolled up to develop the courseware for multiple sessions, mapped to the entire ECO. The same words of appreciation goes out to Sarbani Ghose, Abir Biswas, Samrat Paul, Ashish Mishra & Subhajit Ghosh, the faculty, who took the time out on a weekend and delivered interactive & engaging sessions by sharing their knowledge and experience. training.
The participants shared the takeaways that they had from the training and as per the participants’ feedback, the CAPM training had an overall rating of 4.70 on a scale of 5. With the encouraging feedback received from the participants and the learnings that all of us had in successfully piloting the training program in Region 11 of PMI South Asia, the Chapter plans to launch another CAPM training program in early Q2 FY23.
