Complete Production Process Control Hinges on Interconnected Systems

When you produce parts, dies and molds, you need your machine tools and manufacturing cells to operate at their full capacity. So how do you achieve?this type of efficiency from your equipment? For productivity's sake, you want to increase machining time and maintain quality control. The most effective way to do this is with an interconnected ecosystem of tooling, automation and software that maximizes the value of each part of your process.

That system should cover every aspect of your application, from pallets and chucks to workholding. Its automation and hardware working together seamlessly to eliminate extra setups. And because you use a robot to move parts, you achieve accuracy and repeatability while you free up your workforce for other tasks.

To get started, optimize every production step, so you pare down the number of times you move workpieces among machines, especially with a full reset. With a complete, integrated system, you move a part and its workholding, minimizing variances that can result each time you have to reclamp a workpiece.

All these efficiencies are essential to unattended production, reduced lead times and total consistency. The scalable solution can handle parts of virtually any size and weight, move them from additive manufacturing to EDM to milling, and maintain a centralized automation database of jobs, parts and priorities. It runs on easy-to-use software that manages every little manufacturing step and your entire factory floor.

For decades, GF Machining Solutions built System 3R to meet these many challenges. We have deep expertise in building production cells, and that's an exercise in efficient automation. Our team has distilled everything we know about multi-process integration into a complete system that works with one machine tool brand or several. We establish a reference system that matches up the zero points on all machines so automation can run seven days a week.

You want to make every working minute count and still achieve optimal results. Instead of stop-and-start processes that struggle to optimize profits, look for the full-capacity options of an interconnected ecosystem that transforms your application with consistency and speed.

nice machine, do you use EROWA or 3R tooling on it?

Chris we at SMW Autoblok could not agree more. Companies invest in state of art machines like yours and then don’t take the next step and invest in workholding and cutting tools that are not comparable that don’t allow the machine to perform to its full capabilities.
