Complete Nonsense Blocks Progress

In North Carolina, the legislature is finally taking a look at antiquated liquor laws. As I look at legislation across the entire country, the one constituency that I seldom see taken into consideration, THE CONSUMER.

Get a load of this complete nonsense. From coverage by MyFox8 out of North Carolina.

“We’ll have the interference possibly in a lot of situations of alcohol abuse and how that will stain the day. I have always made the case with lawmakers that they have an obligation to churches, just like they to do businesses, to everything they can to enhance their ability to prosper. Churches hold the very soul over our culture in their hands.” Mark Creech, ?Executive Director of the Christian Action League of North Carolina.

With those with no religious affiliation at 30% a quote like this chaps my ...s.

3 in 10 adults don't want preachers defining their interpretation of culture or defining when they buy cocktails, wines, and beer.

Churches are not where I trust my definition of culture. They lost that place for me and others a long time ago. Perhaps allowing free will would be a better path toward influencing culture.

Even with 26% of the liquor stores closed on Sunday in this industry analysis, Sunday was the third busiest day for spirits sales. The consumer wants this option. Hands down they want it.

Legislatures need to listen to constituents. All of them, not the culture warriors who seek to control behaviors with legislation.

The views expressed here are my own.
