Is competitive nature good for self-development?
When the phrases competitive nature and self-development come together, a question arises in our minds, do both things complement each other? In all honesty, there is no concrete answer to this question. We all know life is subjective and we have our own set of experiences that make us perceive and look at things around us. Those experiences could be good, and of course, they could have been consistently bad.
Hence, one’s competitive nature may sometimes do wonders to their self-development or push one in a shell where don’t want to try anymore. All depends on what people have been through. Having said that, the people who thrive through having a competitive nature, see a lot of growth happening for themselves.
This happens in certain ways that have been
Motivation – When one sees others around them performing well, they feel that they too can do it. This attitude helps plan and execute things in a better way. Such people do not settle for anything less than the best, and they keep on trying to get to the top. Of course, the mantra to getting to being the best is to keep trying again and again in the best possible manner without thinking of quitting.

Clarity – When an individual tries for something repeatedly, either they quit, or get clearer on the processes they need to follow in order to avoid failure. One’s competitive nature helps one evaluate and self-introspect more in comparison to what other individuals do.
Strengthen the Strengths – As we said, an individual who is motivated by his competitive behavior is more likely to self-introspect. In this process, SWOT analysis is one of the most important practices one does time and again. The individual works hard on the best resources and traits he has, thus helping him to get closer to the destination and accomplish his goals.
Determine Weaknesses – One primary reason why so many people fail isn’t that they aren’t destined to succeed, but because they never reflect on their weaknesses and consistently work on them. When an individual is fueled by the success of other individuals, they don’t fear to look in their own eyes to address what is wrong with them. Resultantly, they succeed.
Although our perception and thinking we develop majorly lie in what we experience, we must remember that it is important to self-introspect time and again. Believing in what’s wrong with us is solely in our hands, and working on it, is our choice. For every individual, it is strongly recommended that they understand that they always have an option of choosing no matter what they go through.
