Competition: Determines the Degree of “Strategic Freedom”

Competition: Determines the Degree of “Strategic Freedom”

The intensity of competition determines the degree of strategic ??flexibility a business enjoys. In the case of the complete absence of competition, a monopoly can pursue almost any strategic option it wishes. On the other hand, when competition intensifies, the range of strategic options available will contract, until sometimes no options remain (Grosse, 2007).

Therefore, the balanced approach works well in this case. Both too much and too little competition are unfavorable for a healthy market.
