Are you a business owner looking to stay ahead of the competition?
If so, you may want to take a cue from sport and compete with yourself instead of others. My family is very sports obsessed, my son spends hours reviewing his MyCricket app to try and work out what he did well, what he can improve on etc. I have taken these lessons and implemented them into my business with amazing results.
At first glance, this may seem counterintuitive, but there’s a lot of wisdom in this strategy.
First of all, no matter how good you are at something, there’s always room for improvement. So, don’t waste your energy competing with others. Instead, focus on competing with yourself.
To help you do this, it’s important to have a system in place to track your progress. This could be a budgeting app, a software program that allows you to track your progress and set goals, or a reporting feature from Xero, MYOB, Quickbooks, or any other software you use.
By keeping track of your progress, you can stay on track and make sure that you’re reaching your goals. And, by being obsessed with improvement, you’ll constantly be bettering yourself.
So, don’t be afraid to compete with yourself and stay ahead of the competition. You’ll be surprised at the results.
