Compassion Moves

Compassion Moves

At the start of May the total unemployment insurance claims in the US hit 33 million. 33 million in just the previous 7 weeks.

The unemployment rate quadrupled from 3.5% to 14.7% in April alone.

We felt powerless. You probably did too. We were desperate to do more than watch, as thousands lost their lives, and millions lost their livelihoods.

But we had no idea what “more” was. And our industry was (and is) going through major turmoil too.

Half of the trucks are half-full, the other half are lying empty.

Truckers up and down the country are struggling to put food on the table.

Workers across relo are wondering what’s next for them and their families.

But the industry still wants to give.

The world is built on the backs of truckers and movers and they’re not going to turn their back on you when you need help the most.

But someone needs to connect those truckers, movers, and the entire relocation industry to those who really need help right now.

And our friends who have recently been displaced due to employment changes could use a hand right now.

Compassion Moves is about offering a compassionate, understanding move. High on empathy from end to end, from door to door.

Many are in the process of moving back home. Many will be planning their move over the coming weeks or months.

But throw financial pressure and a global pandemic onto the usual upheaval that comes with moving, and you create an extraordinarily stressful situation.

That is why we are launching a movement in partnership with organizations around the world:

Compassion moves

A movement to help those who have lost their jobs recently, those who have been displaced, get their belongings home at a significantly reduced rate.

We have been blown away by the response from across the industry when we have asked them to join the movement.

We’ve been met with yes after yes, resounding positivity. People want to help, people really want to help, and now they have a chance to.

We’re proud to announce that we’ve already had 11 companies join us as partners:

  • Zippyshell
  • Blueground
  • Kopa
  • Zeus
  • Bellhop
  • EKOMOVERS
  • VANPAC Group Asia
  • Movage
  • Chipman
  • Armstrong Relocation
  • Smartship

We will work together to help those who need to relocate, move at a discounted rate.

All of the partners joining us have committed to carrying out work at cost or significantly reduced rates to help out.

Many of these companies need to work right now, and many people need to move urgently.

Now you might be wondering if you can contribute by offering the services you provide.

And the answer is, almost certainly, yes. Compassion Moves is about offering a compassionate, understanding move. High on empathy from end to end, from door to door.

But we want to do more than just help our friends move, we want to help them settle into their new city, into their new community.

So we’re looking to partner with a whole range of post-move lifestyle services as well as more traditional moving services.

Through all of this it’s our job to make connections. To make connections, so those in need can be moved with compassion, empathy, and patience.

To make the connections, so individually small contributions can collectively become a united, compassionate action that makes a huge impact, helping those who are in a vulnerable moment.

Many people think of moving as one of the most stressful times of their life.

We think of it as one of the most compassionate.

Now, more than ever, it has to be one of the most compassionate.

Join the movement.
