The Comparison between 1990's Starbucks vs. 2020's Starbucks
If you notice there has been a difference of how we viewed Starbucks from 1990's to the Starbucks of today. And this is no knock on them, but besides people getting frustrated with their jobs and the rude behavior of the customers not getting their drinks done right and the over complication of the drinks where we don't know where we are getting any more. This is a comparison of what was and what is?
What Was? 1990's Starbucks
I remember in the 1990's their was a certain ambiance when it came to coffee shops especially 1990's Starbucks. It was a time when drinks weren't complicated and if you asked for a drink they got it right. The syrup touched the spot before everyone got health conscientious. You enjoyed sitting there more times having parking, not too crappy seating before they changed it to crappy broken down seating. There were workers who just wanted to be there. And you would have occasions where their would be music on the weekend. It was a true coffee experience. It was almost where you wanted to be there and wanted to sit down. The crowd were containable and not noticed. Somewhere along the line the company went through there down turns and wanted to be more like Dunkin Donuts rather then The Starbucks they were remembered for. Something Changed.
What Is? Starbucks in the 2020's
There is a lot of frustration between the customers and the workers and I can't blame them. The customers are being ridiculous at times at what they order. And those that ordered a drink failed to see a drink they once love now taste like crap. They see over crowded stores and over crowded parking and they keep the stores to small for their space they need it to be. Also, they have mobile orders they can't keep up with anymore. With drive thru's, mobile orders, walk in and sitting in the ambiance that was is gone.

It is safe to say there are cracks, but will the brand make a comeback and will we remember it for the Starbucks we once loved. I went to a Starbucks today and they out right told me that they were out of Iced Coffee. No I'm sorry, no voucher to come back, no nothing. I said I would go somewhere else for a coffee where I went to a Dunkin Donuts. I understand they don't have it, but this is just how everything evolved and a society devolved.
Our Starbucks represents How We Became as a Whole
No doubt there were cracks they showed everywhere, but is it a problem as a whole in society. People used to be happy when they went to there jobs. They used to provide customer service that they were happy of, but times have changed. Many are unhappy. Many have been stuck in working at home during the pandemic. And many were told to keep their distances. Mental health problems have strung up and where people were lashing out taking their frustrations on a drink not being right. Their was a lot of pressure on the workers and at the same time the customers.
Main reason why I write this is because the engine needed to slow down in order to rebuild and appreciate them, however, we lost that feeling to appreciate the ambiance because we have been busy with life that we have lost a chunk of it. And maybe we search for Local Coffee Shops who still have that ambiance because we don't just want to be a number and an artificially made drink, we want to be a part of a community and made appreciated and receive a drink made with sweetness with a coffee so bitter.
