Comparing AI-based Transcriptions and Human-Made ones
Even though the earliest successful AI program was written in 1951, it started booming in the last few years. AI has given a lot to businesses already but there are still some drawbacks.
Context
Many of us are probably familiar with a situation where the speaker is unclear, but if you listen closely, it is possible to understand the main point. In contrast, AI is not able to understand the bigger picture because it can’t recognise the context.?
Compared to human-made transcriptions, you can expect a different result. When humans listen, they reflect even on the smallest details, such as words in sentences, paragraphs, and context. Let us say – in this case, context is everything.?
Selecting the right word
There are almost 500 English homophones, which are completely clear to humans, knowing the context. For example, a person will know the exact difference between wail, wale, and whale. Or let’s say cite, sight, site. However, AI cannot identify the differences between them.?
AI’s operating principle doesn’t include understanding the context. It leaves a random chance that AI will pick and choose the correct spelling. Although we genuinely believe AI will improve in the future, today we trust the work of professionals.?
