I would recommend to directly characterize the connector using a TRL setup. From the trl calib matrices you can extract the connector performance. This easily allows measuring their performance downto s11 <-30dB (incl the actual used transition from pin to microstrip, alias the 'footprint'). Also, antenna return loss is often heavily affected by the presence of a coax cable and its exact routing/length, making comparative (repeatable) measurements really challenging.

Hi Anh,? What do you attribute the difference in performance to?? The Gigalane launcher has a much smaller pin than the RS part.? Did you use the same PCB or did you modify the pin pad to accommodate this? Best regards, Mark

These connectors would be good for designing coplanar transmission lines/antennas. A simple transition circuitry might be a quarter wave transformer. I experimented extensively with various connectors for planar myself some years ago.
