Company news and small biz tips
Welcome to the latest Reckon Review! And goodness, is it really almost September?
It really is, and we’ve been busy! From launching new campaigns and partnerships to supporting customers during tax season, we’ve had our hands full in the best way. There’s a lot to get through, so let’s get started.
Here’s the latest news from Reckon.
New feature! Pay super in Reckon Payroll
Reckon is excited to announce its latest partnership with Beam Connect . Launched in July, Beam brought its super payments solution to Reckon Payroll – now, small business owners can pay their employees super directly within the platform.?
“This partnership has been a great team effort from start to finish, and we’re really excited about the enhancements the Beam integration offers our small business customers,” says Reckon General Manager Alex Alexandrou .
To start using Beam, log into Reckon Payroll, navigate to Payroll Settings > SuperStream Services, and click “Enable Beam”. Super payments, super easy.
New company culture video
POV: You just started at Reckon.
That’s right: along with our new brand look, we have a brand new company culture video!
“Welcome to Reckon” follows our charismatic CEO Sam Allert as he guides a new starter through their first day at Reckon. Together, they visit all the departments that make the Reckon machine go, and discover what makes Reckon such a great place to work.?
" Welcome to Reckon” is one of our favourite videos. It features an impressive cast list of Reckon leaders, like Head of Product?Mustafa Kohistani ?or Group Financial Controller?Livvy Ramsden . The July shoot went so smoothly that we wrapped early, and Visual Domain absolutely knocked the edit out of the park.
Which Australian cities work the hardest??
Australians are some of the most hardworking people – but who works the hardest in Australia??
Our latest campaign, “Hardest Working Cities ,” tackles that very question. Using recent ABS data and ranking regions based on various factors, the report reveals which places put in the hard yards to become the?Hardest-Working in Australia.
Much to our surprise, North Sydney (our hometown) is the hardest-working region, while Darwin is the hardest-working capital city overall — even beating out Sydney and Melbourne.
It’s debatable whether this ‘grindset’ is ultimately a good thing for some folks, but there’s no denying that a great work ethic is a mighty thing to behold.?
Special thanks to Jonas Grünfeld and the team at Prosperity Media for helping get this off the ground. Let the coverage begin!

Party like it’s the End of the Financial Year
EOFY is the busiest time of the year for Reckon. Between supporting customers and wrapping up the books, we work hard to get it done. Luckily, EOFY also means another Reckon tradition is right around the corner: the EOFY party!
At the beginning of August, we headed into the city to get amongst it. Tunes, tacos, and tequila — we had it all!
And while what happens at the party stays at the party, we got some pretty fun snaps of the night. Happy EOFY, everyone!
Hot Tip! The Financial Year goes fast, but you can keep track of all the important dates and holidays with our free (free!) Financial Year 2025 Calendar. Download it now — again, completely free.
Office Olympics Win the Gold
Paris wasn’t the only Olympics hotspot in 2024: the Reckon head office hosted some pretty competitive pool and ping-pong games!
The games lasted four weeks (we’re only in the office for two days, cut us some slack) but we’re proud to announce the victors of the Reckon Olympics Games. In addition to some fairly convincing replica medals, the podium winners received cash prizes.?
Congratulations to this year’s winners!
