The Company of HR Professionals Signs the UK Armed Forces Covenant
City of London - The Company of HR Professionals is proud to announce that it has signed the UK Armed Forces Covenant, demonstrating its commitment to acknowledging and understanding the needs of the Armed Forces community.
The Armed Forces Covenant is a pledge to recognise the transferable skills developed through military service and training and ensure that members of the Armed Forces community are treated with fairness and respect in all aspects of their life. By signing the Covenant, the Company of HR Professionals is showing its support for the Armed Forces community and building a more open and honest relationship between employers, Service personnel, reservists, veterans, and military families.
"HR professionals play a key role in businesses and organisations across the UK, fostering good employee relations and helping drive personal and business growth," said John Renz, Master of the Company of HR Professionals. "By signing the Covenant, we will raise awareness about the importance of supporting the employment of veterans, recognising military skills and qualifications in the recruitment and selection process, and encouraging staff to become Reservists or Cadet Forces Adult Volunteers (CFAV)."
As part of its commitment, The Company of HR Professionals will also promote the employment of Service spouses and partners, helping member companies to understand the flexibility required to support a partner's deployment.
The Company of HR Professionals is also partnering with the Military Wives Choirs to jointly raise funds for its HR Charitable Trust and the Military Wives Choirs.
"The Company of HR Professionals is a forces-friendly organisation, and we encourage our members to raise awareness and support of the Armed Forces with their employers," added John Renz "We are proud to support the Armed Forces community and look forward to continuing to build a strong relationship between the military and HR professionals."
