Company Culture: One Word Brief

Following on from my piece about how you generate new relationships in a creative space, one of the points I mentioned was in regards to having a great 'shop window' that potential new clients can keep up to date with. That work isn't a 'look at us, we've just won this' strategy, it's work that we are creating in our down time that we feel passionate about, enjoy and showcases our skill sets.
We think it's incredibly important to do as an agency and as an example of the work that we do showcase, recently we completed an internal project called #OneWordBrief.
The idea was to take one word set by the general public which was then given to our creative team and then interpreted in which ever way they felt would be best to describe it's meaning, but... they only had 24 hours to complete the task.
Here are the results...
The three words selected were:
- Esoteric
- Leadership
- Proposition
Taking the definition of Esoteric (a subject intended to be understood by a smaller specialised group of people) Kayleigh translated it into morse code, and using the layout of Binary code printed the language onto glass, overlaying them on top of each other and presenting them in a frame which can be tilted displaying the layers on different angles.
Another of our Designers Emma, created her piece on Leadership by embroidering what she describes as:
“A visual example of the UK in its current setting, depicting a boat on choppy seas needing guidance...
