COMPACTION PART II
Mick McCool
Highways Inspector (IHE). TSCO, Instructor, Assessor, Compliance & Competency Consultant, Civil’s Supervisor & Op. SSSTS. 360, Roller. Licensing, Permits and Sections NRSWA. Data Protection Officer. Ex Homeless Veteran.
I called the first part of this article "COMPACTION" for a very good reason, its a vital part of TraffSec's Civil Engineering and Ground Works roles. We might not be able to inject our passion into Traffic Management but we certainly believe that there is still a viable work ethic amongst the people that keep our infrastructure going, thats why our training school will be operational soon. One thing that l am sure of now however is that there is NO LONGER a concern for ethical practice in Traffic Management, NO ONE genuinely cares, financial implications, lack of competency in management right to the top, virtue signalling is off the scale and with DEI madness ensuring that competent people with a genuine passion to innovate this industry will never get the opportunity. If you look at any Traffic related job advertised by any authority you are put off straight away by the nonsense of DEI and what your sexual orientations may be in some cases. If your on LinkedIn it tells you immediately that from the 21 applicants, 21 have Bachelors degrees, l can tell you for an absolute fact that there are individuals who have NO degrees but they will actually be able to do the job in a very competent and professional manner. Not only that but that individual may have ties to the area and has a moral interest in improving the lives of people and the community he lives in. In the meantime the authority wastes tax payers money trying to sing the DEI tune damaging the local area. Why would you bother, benefits and an easy life is a much better option, heard of PIP?
Kier Group
There was going to be a short paragraph about our seriously incompetent National Highways and their continued waste of tax payers money day and night on our SRN. I will leave them to next week as l await some Freedom of Information requests to come back.
Last August we started the process of attaining Constructionline Gold for the purpose of working for Kier Group in our LOCAL AREA which covers West Northamptonshire Council and North Northamptonshire Council . When we achieved this no work was forthcoming as the person who was dealing with us "heard a rumour" from one of the other suppliers. The rumour was that we were apparently trying to steal work of an existing Traffic Management Supplier, the problem with this rumour was that myself and the boss of this particular company from Birmingham had already had a meeting in Weedon Bec to see how we could assist his company in the local area as LOTS of our staff live in Northampton. Meanwhile we operate a heavy allegiance to re-training REAL VETERANS and getting them into work, NOT virtue signalling our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant, l lived on the streets of London for three years as a homeless veteran. I know the challenges and the battles you have with your head and how you must refocus your whole approach to life. The local authority and Kier use certain companies that are unprofessional and incompetent, that is a fact proven by my failure to find a compliant Traffic Management site within the borders of this county whilst working daily, my number so far is now 134(not all within Northamptonshire) with only TWO COMPLIANT. Add in the duties of this Tier One and their carbon reduction PAS 2080 commitments, how does this work bringing people in from outside when we are based in a geographical advantageous area. Small companies have enough struggles, especially if you want to follow the rules and do your best for TAX PAYERS, Kier Group have treated us disrespectfully and with disdain and l won't forget this.
STAMP IT OUT
Why is it that this nonsense is getting airtime, the guy driving it connected with me last week and asked what number he could contact me on, l sent it and of course no phone call was ever received.
I have spoken about this useless Stamp it Out from its very conception so l am not going to expand on my reasons as it will be labelled a diatribe. It is very simple as to what this is, a load of BOLLOCKS, a small consideration of common sense identifies my honest analysis. The police can't muster a car for a stabbing, the labour government are DEFINITELY not fit for purpose, a high percentage of the public have had enough of Traffic Management INCOMPETENCE and lack of professionalism, lots of the public are not EDUCATED in the Highway Code, lots of the public can't speak ENGLISH, we DO NOT TRAIN STAFF correctly, National Highways are NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE and very few people actually CARE.
I could go on an on but what is unforgivable for me is the individuals and companies getting behind this as they must know that this is a nonsense. I notice Core Highways is doing something, using data l think it was, when l read this l just laughed. Core always rolling out something, please Core Highways just concentrate on installing competent functioning Traffic Management before you look at innovation, GET THE SIMPLE THINGS RIGHT FIRST PLEASE.
Something else l had to laugh at was National Highways turning up in a Cambridgeshire services to promote this with two intellicone's mounted on two cones they obviously grabbed of one of their many TAX WASTING SITES. The next day they mounted them on two blue and white cones, you can't make it up.
NRSWA TRAINING CENTRE
We are nearing the opening of our purpose built training centre which will offer a chance to actually learn, l know when the first course comes that will ensure we receive continuous business. It will be an extremely sought after course after the first few people have went through, our level of training will be unlike anything on offer in the United Kingdom. If you would like to come to one of the tasters for the full course get in touch, there will be three days to choose from . Contact [email protected]
Sunbelt Rentals UK & Ireland
Just wanted to give Sunbelt a quick shout as l stopped near Flore yesterday at a 3 way with a TUSC, the operative, an M5 called Neal/Neill l believe had a very tidy site and he was a nice guy. A few things wrong that he knew he had been caught out on, things he wasn't aware of and a few things that l gave him guidance on, overall it was a well installed site but NOT compliant. Good guy who l hope will progress and encourage others!
