commuting & communicating

Dear Reader,

How often do you travel? Do you plan everything in advance or prefer to face adventures on the go? Do you tend to meet new interesting people while travelling or prefer your own company? Maybe modern tech helps you in some way to enable your travel or distract you from boredom while commuting somewhere?

Recently, I came across the idea of lack of life communication while being away from family and friends. If you are not 'the most sociable' person in the room and ice breaking is easy only when somebody else starts talking to you first, then I address my questions to you. Let's imagine a very prosaic situation: you don t get to see picturesque views of the place you are visiting due to the work callings or simply not feeling comfortable going outside a hotel for various reasons (e.g. tiredness/lack of security/no interest), so end up in the hotel bar or the one near by.

But this the most prosaic situation can actually be a stage for your own performance. Would you be still interested in opportunities to share your professional knowledge/skills and learn from people around you? But how could you start a conversation with the right person? How can you find your Larry Page or Sergey Brin? (Co-founders of Google, whose partnership was based on the passion for technology and who had similar backgrounds).

Having found my colleagues and myself in such situations, I want to enable a solution and need your help to get better understanding about what do you do after a tiring business day in an unfamiliar place? Having a pint on your own/going straight to bed/or chatting to random people? Please share your experience or opinion on how much 'fun' it could be?

Thanks for your attention to this post! Any feedback would be much appreciated.
