Bringing Hope Through Quality Education

Every child deserves access to quality education—not just in classrooms but with essential tools like uniforms, books, pens, and school bags. In Zambia, financial challenges prevent many children from enjoying this right. Through the Guardian for a Year Program, we’re addressing these challenges, one student at a time.

?Spotlight on Anna-Maria Kanganja: A Passion for Education and Leadership

Anna-Maria Kanganja is a third-year student studying Purchasing and Supply at ZCAS and a professional baker. Beyond her academic and entrepreneurial pursuits, Anna-Maria serves as the acting Lusaka Chapter Lead for Lead Me Back Foundation (LMBF), where her dedication to improving the lives of others has made a lasting impact.

Her journey with LMBF began in a simple yet profound way—through her sister. “I first encountered LMBF when my sister introduced me to the organization,” Anna-Maria shares. “I found myself helping to assemble backpacks at home. When I saw those backpacks being donated and witnessed the joy of children receiving them, I knew I wanted to be part of ensuring quality education.”

This passion for education has driven Anna-Maria’s volunteer work, and she vividly recalls one of her most impactful moments. “I met a mother who told me how one of her children was on the verge of dropping out of school. Thanks to the backpacks they received, her child stayed in school and even sat for their 7th-grade exams this year. Hearing that story reminded me why our work is so important.”

Anna-Maria credits her time with LMBF for her personal and professional growth. As an introvert, she admits she’s had to step out of her comfort zone, particularly in team settings. “Volunteering has helped me grow in my interactions with others. I’ve developed communication and people skills, especially during outreach activities like those at Ubumi Care Clinic, where I had to bring people to our stand. I’ve also gained project management skills and learned to be a better leader and team player.”

Her dedication is guided by a favorite quote from Dale Carnegie:

“Don’t be afraid to give your best to what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one, it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.”

Anna-Maria explains how this mindset has shaped her approach to volunteering. “This quote encourages me to give my best, even for the smallest tasks. Volunteering with LMBF has shown me how even small efforts can make a huge difference in someone’s life.”

Through her work with LMBF, Anna-Maria is living proof that small actions, done with great passion, can create lasting change.?

Impactful Partnership: Liquid Intelligent Technologies

Since 2022, Liquid Intelligent Technologies has been a steadfast partner in empowering young learners through the Lead Me Back Foundation. Together, we’ve supported 35 children—10 in 2022, 10 in 2023, and 15 in 2024—providing them with quality education and opportunities that were once beyond their reach.

Through this partnership, over 1,000 essential resources have been distributed, contributing to an exceptional 100% pass rate for all examination-class students in the program.

This collaboration has been life-changing, not just for the children but also for their families. Many of these students come from under-resourced backgrounds, where access to quality education was a distant dream. Thanks to Liquid Intelligent Technologies, they now thrive in enriched learning environments with the materials, mentorship, and inspiration they need to excel.

Beyond academics, this partnership has nurtured their confidence, self-esteem, and aspirations for a brighter future—showcasing the power of collective impact in transforming lives.

We are deeply grateful for this enduring partnership and look forward to reaching even greater milestones together.
