Thanksgiving-COM.together! – What a party!

?Joy is the simplest form of gratitude.“?(Karl Barth) And we were delighted with all the guests with whom we were able to look back on 2023 together, who are looking forward to the next year with us and are helping to shape the air freight of the future.

The community has already achieved a lot in the past year. The number of members has reached a new level, we were able to make many exciting contacts and the work in the competence teams has also picked up speed again after a long dry spell due to the pandemic and is even being expanded with a new round. We received a lot of positive feedback from the community over the delicious turkey - this time in smaller pieces - and other specialities at the IntercityHotel Frankfurt Airport. So we are entering the new year with new inspiration and much anticipation.

YACE at Pier G

After a long-awaited childhood dream came true for some with the tour of the DFS Tower, the Young Air Cargo Executives were able to take a look behind the scenes of a place that no passenger has ever set foot in: Pier G. The pier is part of Terminal 3, which is scheduled to go into operation in 2026. Pier G has already been completed on the construction side, which means that the pier will be ready for regular flight operations within 12 months if required. The young professionals were able to see the construction of the pier for themselves on site and try out the routes that up to 5 million passengers will take each year in the future. From the check-in counters to the baggage handling system via the gate area - an exciting insight for our YACEers!

Sustainability round table - Kick-off in January!

Sustainability in all its facets is now part of our everyday lives and companies must and want to deal with the topic of sustainability. This is where we have discovered potential for our community - what common issues can we address as a community? Are there sustainable measures and projects that we can initiate as a community? We would like to put questions like these up for discussion at our Sustainability Kick-off Round on 23 January 2024 at 3:30 pm. We look forward to your input. If you are not yet on board and are interested in participating, please get in touch with the two competence team leaders Bettina Jansen ([email protected]), Head of Environmental Management at Lufthansa Cargo AG, and Steve John ([email protected]), National Account Manager at UPS SCS GmbH & Co. KG or contact us.
