Dear Community,

The first half of 2024 has already passed, and once again, a lot has happened in our community...

New Executive Board – Regular General Meeting 2024

The annual General Meeting took place on June 20th as usual at the IntercityHotel Frankfurt Airport. After the reports from the managing directors and auditors, the Executive Board was also duly re-elected.

By the statutes, one person from each of the two largest players at Frankfurt Airport is sent to the Board: Dr. Pierre Dominique Prümm remains active on the Board as a representative of Fraport AG , as does Dietmar Focke for Lufthansa Cargo . In the group of freight forwarders, Susanne Klingler-Werner from UPS供应链解决方案 was confirmed in her office, as was Michael Hoppe from Board of Airline Representatives in Germany e.V. (BARIG) as a representative of the airlines. In the group of cargo handlers, there was a change: Patrik Tschirch from LUG aircargo handling GmbH was elected to the new Board. For the group of various service providers, Christian Riege from Riege Software joins the Board for the first time. In a board meeting immediately convened, the new board unanimously elected Patrik Tschirch as the new Chairman of the Board and Christian Riege as his deputy. Patrik Tschirch has been on the Board since 2014, with a two-year break, and was already Chairman of the Board from 2020 to 2022.

At this point, we would like to take the opportunity to express our sincere thanks to Henning Dieter (former Chairman of the Board) and Dr. Tobias Riege (former Deputy Chairman of the Board). Both were able to provide valuable impulses during their tenure and have contributed to the positive development of our community.

A Reason to Celebrate: 10 Years of Air Cargo Community in Frankfurt!

Our association was founded in 2014 by air cargo visionaries with the goal of bundling the interests and needs of various process participants. With the support of the largest companies at Frankfurt Airport, Fraport and Lufthansa Cargo, the number of members in the association has steadily grown over the years. Today, more than 75 companies from different parts of the air cargo chain are among our members.

The tenth anniversary was a welcome occasion to celebrate with our members at the IntercityHotel on the south side of the airport. Former board members and stakeholders of the association were also among the guests, and together they looked back on the past 10 years, the challenges, and successes.

In addition to the measures developed in the various competence teams, for 10 years now we have been offering our members the opportunity to network through various events. After the barbecue buffet, there was a fun quiz and an entertaining presentation of our new TikTok channel. Afterwards, the DJ received increased attention and the airfreighters in Frankfurt celebrated our association and our achievements of the last 10 years extensively.

TikTok - going crazy or going viral?

"TikTok is only for teenagers. There are only silly dance videos on TikTok. TikTok content is superficial and pointless." Annika K?titz ( FIEGE Air Cargo Logistics GmbH & Co. KG ) and Felicitas Haller ( All Service Sicherheitsdienste GmbH ) debunked these and many other prejudices at our 10th anniversary celebration with examples and ideas. "If you want to attract employees in the future and improve the image of the air freight industry, you have to move with the times" Annika said convincingly. With the new "aircargocommunityfra" channel, the newly established "TikTok" working group offers added value for our member companies.

And the best thing is: member companies can simply send their videos for the channel or take advantage of the

TikTok team. Just send a message to [email protected]. If you are interested in joining the exciting team, please let us know.

Registration for ACC 2024 has started

On your marks, get set, sign up! This year's Air Cargo Conference will take place on September 4 and 5. Register now via our event website. Our member companies enjoy a reduced ticket price and receive two complimentary tickets.

You can get a preview of this year's agenda on our event website. In addition to the presentations and networking breaks, our Sunrise Tour on the second day of the conference is also worth highlighting. The proceeds from the tour tickets will be donated to charity.

First YACE Afterwork-Event

We supported HAUS61 's initiative to offer our Young Air Cargo Executives and the new talents in our industry a platform in a cozy atmosphere. At the Hunky Dory Bar in Frankfurt, our young professionals had the opportunity to talk to experienced managers who play a key role in shaping our air cargo industry at Frankfurt Airport. The executives also benefited from the ideas of the young professionals to learn more about their perspectives for the future of air freight.

Many thanks to Hendrik Bender and Rachid Touzani?? , who initiated this format on the part of HAUS61, which offers added value for our YACE community.

Sporty performance by the Air Cargo Community at the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge

This year, the Air Cargo Community Frankfurt took part in the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge for the first time. A team of 34 runners from various member companies took to the starting line on June 5 to complete the 5.6-kilometre course through downtown Frankfurt together.

In addition to some great personal achievements, the successful run was followed by refreshments at Fraport's Party Point. Despite the effort, we visibly had a lot of fun

Clean-Up Day at CargoCity South

Together with our Trucking and Sustainability competence teams and volunteers from our member companies, we carried out a clean-up campaign in CargoCity South. Within a few hours, we were able to collect several buckets full of garbage and remove it from CargoCity South. We were accompanied by an ice cream van, where truck drivers and volunteers were able to cool off with a sweet treat. We would like to thank our sponsors Air-Tech Transport & Logistics GmbH , CARGO7 GmbH , National Air Cargo (Deutschland) GmbH and Strike Aviation Group .

We would also like to thank all the volunteers from CHI Deutschland Cargo Handling GmbH , Fraport AG , Lufthansa Cargo , LUG aircargo handling GmbH and National Air Cargo (Deutschland) GmbH .

BPI visits the airport

At the beginning of June, the committee members of the German Pharmaceutical Industry Association ( Bundesverband der Pharmazeutischen Industrie ) spent an exciting day at Frankfurt Airport.

The first part of the day was dedicated to interesting presentations and discussions about the transportation of pharmaceutical and healthcare products. In the afternoon, the group visited the warehouse and the Pharma Healthcare Center of LUG aircargo handling GmbH . This was followed by a tour of the apron, during which the participants were able to take a look at the actual processes on the apron.

For us, it was an enriching exchange with new inspiration and ideas for our pharma competence team. We look forward to further encounters with the BPI.
