Community Living - in an Apartment Building!
I've been living in an apartment since July 2020 and though I thought at first it would be a temporary arrangement, I've since questioned the wisdom of moving out and buying a house.
Why? Because, while you live "apart" in an apartment, it's a little reminiscent of living in residence while at university. We have common spaces, and private spaces - privacy and the ability to socialize - the ultimate co-housing arrangement.
Ironically, I feel as if I would be living less "apart" in an apartment building than I would in a neighbourhood!
Living here has given me a perspective on society I did not have before. I know we deal with huge crises of loneliness, addiction, and suicide to name just three. And I know living in community addresses and mitigates these issues. But I never appreciated until now the unique opportunity to build community afforded by apartment living.

I've been having a blast building community here. I wrote about some of my early experiences here. But I've come to know there is only so much the body of tenants can do without the engagement of the staff. This is not to say the staff here doesn't care about community, because they do. They just don't grasp the full scope of what it takes to build it, as I do.
So I created the program I wrote about here. If your apartment building is in Ottawa, we can do an in-person program. If you want to fly us out to your building, we can do it in-person for you. Otherwise, we can do the program completely online (still live).
There is no time to lose. This program improves the retention of tenants and staff and creates a happier living/working environment for all. Does it get any better than that? Contact me today.
