Community - Leaving a Legacy Within Your Community

I believe that we all have the ability to leave a legacy within our communities. I've been speaking a lot about legacies and thinking about it as my kids have gotten older.? Maybe you've seen a couple of the other videos where I talked about our family, kids', and work legacies.

Community legacies are tied to what I was talking about in my previous video on work legacies. Within your community, the legacy that you can give does not have to be starting a big new non-profit, putting your name on a building, or whatever large things that the whole community can see.?

We can leave an impact on our community in many small ways.? Our communities are so rich, because there are a lot of positive things going on, but there's also a lot of need out there. This is not a lecture to tell you to be more involved in your community, but to consider that when you do look at how you're involved in a community, ask yourself if you are being intentional.

Are you thinking about where your passion is in working within your community? Is that where you're going to stay consistently involved? I believe intentionality is the key to where you can leave a legacy within your community.?

Are you really passionate about people not having enough food and you want to consistently work in that area? Are you passionate about education and you want to be there for after school programs??

Our legacies are just a piece of everything in our community. None of us are going to make all the problems go away, when you are intentional, your impact is heartfelt and multiplied.

I challenge you to think about where your passion is, so that you can leave a legacy.? I do believe that all these communities that we live in and that we describe as ‘rich in community’ are really because of a combination of so many people intentionally leaving their individual small legacies in areas that they're passionate about.
