The face of pain is often smiling, and you never know what someone is going through behind the scenes. Mental illness, and especially suicide, is a topic people tend to avoid, but it's crucial to bring it to light — and this book does so with the care and honesty it deserves.
By the Time You Read This includes the manuscript former Miss USA Cheslie Kryst was about to publish before her tragic suicide. Her mother, April Simpkins, PHR, SHRM-CP, CDP , wraps up the narrative sharing about the pain of losing her daughter, her grief journey, and why she became a mental health advocate.
"I hope that when people read this book, they promise themselves to seek help when they need it, that they work to create a safe space so that their friends can share, and that they learn how to really listen."

Speaking our deepest thoughts and pains in a trusted environment has a tremendous impact on lessening the pain, and with support and understanding, we can survive long enough to thrive again.
