In today's rapidly evolving technological landscape, the importance of information technology (IT) in driving digital transformation within organizations cannot be overstated.? As businesses strive to stay competitive and adapt to the changing market dynamics, the need for a community-driven approach to championing the benefits of IT has become increasingly crucial (Dash et al., 2023)(Lazi? & Jovi?, 2019).
The digital transformation of an organization is a complex process that requires a holistic approach, encompassing various aspects of the business, including customer experience, operations, and people (Marks & AL-Ali, 2020). Yesterday, i met with one of my Collage Lim, Formerly, He is modern work specialist at Microsoft. Lim emphasized the importance of establishing a unified vision and gaining community grow to accelerate the digital transformation. According to recent studies, the key drivers of digital transformation can be categorized into three main areas: customer-driven, technology-driven, and organizational development-driven.(Hrustek et al., 2019).
Customer-driven digital transformation focuses on enhancing the customer experience through the adoption of new technologies, such as e-commerce platforms, mobile applications, and personalized services.? On the other hand, technology-driven transformation is often driven by the emergence of new digital technologies that disrupt traditional business models and create new opportunities for innovation.(Veldhoven & Vanthienen, 2021) Organizational development-driven transformation, on the other hand, is initiated by the internal desire to improve operational efficiency, streamline processes, and enhance employee productivity through the strategic implementation of digital tools and solutions.(Verhoef et al., 2021).
Regardless of the primary driver, digital transformation is a fundamental shift in the way businesses operate and interact with their stakeholders. That’s why the Lim idea seems promising in the beginning. As the digital landscape continues to evolve, it is essential for organizations to foster a community-driven approach to digital transformation, where employees, customers, and partners are actively engaged and empowered to embrace the benefits of information technology. (Veldhoven & Vanthienen, 2021)
By creating a community of champions who can effectively communicate the value of digital transformation, organizations can overcome resistance to change and cultivate a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Lim expressed that these champions could serve as role models, mentors, and advocates, inspiring others to adopt new technologies and embrace the digital transformation journey.
Furthermore, a community-driven approach to digital transformation can also help organizations address the organizational structure challenges that often arise during the transformation process.? Empirical research has shown that the traditional hierarchical structure may not be well-suited to the agile, collaborative nature of digital transformation, and organizations may need to explore more flexible, cross-functional structures to support their digital initiatives.
In conclusion, the growing importance of information technology in driving digital transformation within organizations cannot be overstated. By fostering a community-driven approach, where employees, customers, and partners are actively engaged and empowered to champion the benefits of IT, organizations can overcome resistance to change, cultivate a culture of innovation, and ultimately, accelerate their digital transformation journey.
So, Lim and I want to propose the following recommendations for organizations to effectively leverage a community-driven approach to digital transformation:

The real question is how the business models and how to integrate global community work together for digital transformation. By adopting a community-driven approach to digital transformation, organizations can harness the collective power of their employees, customers, and partners to drive sustainable change and position themselves for long-term success in the digital age. But the conclusion is still the same, will the organization still love the classical training, or they need the more rapid one just like MOOC or online training. how about you?

8 个月This is a good insight, and I agree with your goal for digital transformation to be led by the community. However, I would like to add that deep-seated hierarchies and resistance to change are much stronger than a few digital champions. Big businesses still do things the same way they always have because they feel safer with what they know than with the unknown that comes with fast, tech-driven changes. We need to make a big change in society for real transformation to happen, and it starts from ourselves...
