Community Conversations
Community Conversations is a methodology used for mobilizing communities for action around development issues; built on trust, accountability and participation. It is based on a vision and recognition that communities have the capacity to prevent, change and sustain solutions to identified social problems and issues.
It is an approach aimed at creating interactive spaces for facilitated conversations, reflections and applications based on relationships of trust and mutual respect. Community Conversations provide project implementing organizations, government officials and community leaders an opportunity to engage a broad cross section of community members in productive, action-oriented deliberation.
This methodology is best suited for programs that require and adapt a participatory approach with local stakeholder groups at community level; through community engagement and feedback mechanisms. Such as Democracy & Governance Initiatives; e.g. A project on representation and participation of the public in political and electoral processes in a given country.
