DONOR CAMPAIGN – CAMP WAPIYAPI

I am conducting a donor campaign to benefit the charity Camp Wapiyapi through my participation in the 5K race (run, jog, or walk) of the Colfax Marathon event on May 18 and 19th.

Using my Motivated Money Method for raising funding, I created a list of targeted donor candidates representing people (1) I know and (2) whom I believe would respond positively and quickly to a request for a small dollar donation.

I launched the 18-day campaign on May 1 – a sprint – with sending the first in a series of emails (Stage 1) to my list of 73 individuals to be followed (Stage 2) by in person contact. Here is the daily update with no change from yesterday.

QUICK CALENDAR

I quickly list here upcoming opportunities where I will be sharing information, lessons in funding, or meeting in person or via videoconferencing.

FUNDING POINTS

COMMUNITY BUILDING – FUNDRAISERS AS MARATHONS

I am in the final days of my donor campaign to benefit Camp Wapiyapi through my participation in the Colfax Marathon. I am working to raise a goal of $1,000 before running a 5K (3.1 miles) race this Saturday at Denver City Park. Although the donor campaign is only 18 days and the race is only 5K, they both feel like a marathon (which will be run by other people on Sunday, May 19th.

Camp Wapiyapi, a remarkable nonprofit organization, provides unforgettable summer camp experiences for children affected by pediatric cancer, offering them joy and a respite from their everyday challenges. You can make your donation directly to Camp Wapiyapi by visiting their donation page: Donate to Camp Wapiyapi. Select the amount you wish to donate and follow the prompts to complete your contribution.

https://www.campwapiyapi.org/donate-support/

My goal is to raise a total of $1,000.

Daily updates on this donor campaign are provided in my Instant Funding newsletter on LinkedIn.

My work in this fundraising is part of a larger effort to develop and publish a book – Dakin’s Edge: A Charity Fundraising Kit - that will include three different donor campaigns and how I used Chat GPT to accelerate and improve planning and implementation. If you make a donation of $25 or more to Camp Wapiyapi, please send me a copy of your donation and I will send you a copy of the Kit when published.

This very short capital campaign demonstrates that requests for funding will be honored by a small percentage of candidates even where circumstances are optimum. As one solicits investments from a larger audience of people unknown to the person making the request, the responses fall dramatically to a point where, statistically, not much can be expected. Recognizing this change in response from people well known to people unknown calls for small businesses to engage in continuous, methodical, strategic community building to improve the probability of success.

CAPITAL COACH

I am now field testing the Capital Coach, an artificial intelligence learning management system avatar (AILMSA) that I have trained on the topic of funding. The Capital Coach is embedded as a widget on my Dakin Capital website at https://dakincapital.com/CAP. The Capital Coach represents a proprietary data set on the Knowledge Avatars learning management system with licensed access to Open AI. Could you give the Capital Coach a try and ask it questions about funding? Please share your feedback. Karl Dakin at [email protected]

QUICK ASSESSMENT

I frequently receive direct requests for assistance in funding. As much as I would like to help everyone, I realize that constraints of time, money, distance, prior knowledge of an industry or capital market may prevent me from making a significant contribution.

People send me slide decks and ask for money or for me to introduce them to an investor. It takes time to evaluate an investment opportunity. I cannot refer an investment opportunity without completing an evaluation first.

To aid me in assessing an investment opportunity and determining if I may be of help, I have created a short set of questions that span a variety of small business topics. Anyone seeking my assistance may download and complete these questions from a folder I have set up in my Box.com account. The answers may be sent to me at Karl Dakin – [email protected].

OPPORTUNITIES

AeroCine – I am engaged in a business that is acting as a distributor of Pathogen Focus disinfection equipment. This technology has been shown to be superior in continuous disinfection of buildings in a variety of applications and safe for operation while people are present. I am currently looking to match application of the technology to challenges where people and animals may suffer from dangerous viruses, bacteria or fungi such as avian flu, greenhouses, housing and food production. Equipment demonstrations may be arranged to validate efficacy and economics. Karl Dakin at [email protected]

Dino Park – I am engaged in exploring a business opportunity for a theme park that will feature full size, highly realistic, animatronic dinosaurs. I will be conducting a site visit in the Austin/San Antonio, Texas area on May 22-24. People interested in participation or partnerships in this business and economic development opportunity of theme parks, mixed use developments and robotics should contact me.
