A Community-Academic Collaboration to Impact Childhood Obesity

A Community-Academic Collaboration to Impact Childhood Obesity

Ginny Langham's, from Auburn University at Montgomery, has published this extremely important paper on Obesity in Alabama, in Volume 5, Issue 3 of the International Journal of Health, Wellness, and Society.

With over 300 million adults deemed obese, and significantly at risk for diabetes, this issue is only magnified when considering the fact that the eating habits of those adults could well have a negative effect on the eating habits of their children.

A quality improvement project was designed to establish a community partnership among public school leaders, school nurses, and a university nursing program to provide childhood obesity screenings and a health educational intervention for third graders in a rural, medically underserved
Alabama elementary school.

This paper has a phenomenal lit review, and culminates in the descriptive study design.  Find out Ginny Langham's results at: https://ijw.cgpublisher.com/product/pub.198/prod.201
