Communities For Impact

Earlier this week, I met surprising people emerging from nowhere. The first two appeared while I was enjoying a sunset bath, the second yelled at me in the street, and the third one was a shamaness.

They shared three principles that may help you build communities for impact:

1. Compassion: understanding each other,
2. Take Action: belief in what you do,
3. A Cause: the power of the link.

Compassion

On Wednesday, while sitting on the grass in the center of Puteaux, Jean-Marc and Jean-Gabriel appeared from nowhere with a soft call: "Mister?" We talked a few minutes about kindness and generosity. Both faced intense challenges from drugs to violence and emotional instability, but they had the courage to change through faith and religion. When they left, they made a prayer to wish me luck in life. When I left, I was lost in my mind thinking about compassion.

Then a cry woke my mind, and I stopped walking as a guy approached fast.

Take Action

'Hey, you must do sports, right?" I nodded. "Are you the type of person who's afraid to work out with a group? What are you doing tomorrow at 7 pm?"

Abdel is a sports trainer building a community of outdoor practitioners. He wants to grow his group from 30 to 50 people for the summer to create a movement and eventually find clients for 1-1 training. I'll join the group to be the 31st guy next Tuesday 20, and Abdel may teach another thing or two about building a community-Pont de Puteaux. Wanna join?

A Cause

The next day, which was yesterday evening, I went to the UNESCO headquarters in Paris to participate in the second conference of 8 Mars ! La puissance du lien. It's a French association created to fight for women and men equality by élisabeth Moreno last March, 8. This time, Katia Thomas-Labbas invited me. After the show, I had a lone moment with my friends networking and me having a glass of water at the bar. I noticed someone near me and asked, "Are you waiting to meet élisabeth Moreno?" She replied, "I already hugged her. I'm one of her lifelong friends from Cap Vert." So we talked about the show, people, work, and equality leading me to mention Jean-Marc and Jean-Gabriel.

Fernande shared: "Look at me. I had a very pleasant life and discovered my first failure with love after 30. I'm kind. I encourage people to do their best. I have positive energy. I've been distinguished Personality of the Year for Cap Vert. Not everyone needs to face deep failure to make things better."
