As the year comes to an end, we want to give our members a review of all the communications topics we've covered this year.
For those who have been curious about our Soulcast Media Membership program, here's a peek inside:
Whether you joined during our BIG launch in February or during our enrollment period, you have access to all these communications topics and videos right now.
Look how far you’ve come on your communications journey already!
February - Interpersonal Communications
Use nonverbal and verbal communications skills by focusing on making your message clear, conveying the proper tone, and being an attentive listener.
March - Engaging Conversations
Show your personality, but maintain professionalism in your conversations by laying the foundation, considering your approach, and understanding the context. The key is to speak about things the other person cares about.
April - Public Speaking
Become a confident public speaker by overcoming the fear of being judged and shifting that focus to your speech and energy.
May - Presence
Body language tips include hand and feet placement, body positioning and maintaining eye contact. All can help you appear more confident and exude presence.
June - Credibility
Learn how to develop credibility at work by speaking concisely, making key points, and staying true to your words. Whether you are a new employee or in the c-suite, credibility always has to be proven and re-proven.
July - Confidence
Confidence is built through action and exposing yourself to new things. Speaking up in meetings and adjusting your tone can help show confidence in the way you communicate.
August - Tone of Voice
Tone of voice affects how you are perceived. Wendy LeBorgne breaks your tone into: Intensity, Inflection, Rate, Frequency, and Quality. The first four can be changed, and using all five strategically can give you that unique strong tone of voice when speaking.
September - Impromptu Conversations
Three things to think about in impromptu conversations: structuring your speaking, honing your questions, and being prepared. The biggest setback to becoming a good impromptu speaker is overthinking it, so prepare some talking points.
October - Executive Presence Part 1
Executive presence is made up of three elements: how you carry yourself, how you communicate and how you make others feel. Presence also has to do with being an active listener and making sure you ask thoughtful questions.
November - Executive Presence Part 2
Maintaining executive presence on video calls means using a more commanding voice, knowing when to talk by pulling up your gallery view, and wearing the appropriate attire. Even on video, impressions are still being made.
December - Communications Energy
Cultivate communications energy by speaking via your stomach voice, positioning your body to indicate active listening and smiling. Be mindful of the energy you are giving off in any conversation. We want positive. People want to work with people they like!
By being a part of our Soulcast Media Membership family, you are already growing your communications skills. (Go you!!) Everything is inside your portal.
Remember: becoming an effective and powerful speaker does not happen overnight, but consistency, practice and showing up is key.
So glad to be your communications advisor this year and into 2021!
If you would like to join our Soulcast Media Membership, we have a FLASH opening for 24 hours!
