Leveraging Business Rules Engine (BRE) for Attribute Based Pricing?has been available for several releases, while this is taking it a step further, and enable what we assume to be the full power of Salesforce Pricing. We were not able to find documentation for how to configure this new feature yet.

A note on the page mentions new customers can look at using Salesforce Contracts. See the Salesforce Help documentation for integrating Salesforce Contracts with the Vlocity Managed Packages.

OmniStudio is now Omnistudio

OmniStudio is now Omnistudio! FlexCard is now Flexcard and OmniScript is now Omniscript. This is a further step in rebranding the product suite after the recent rebrand of “DataRaptors” to “OmniStudio Data Mappers.”

Omnistudio New Designers

Many Salesforce and Salesforce Industries professionals are doubting the future of Omnistudio – don’t fret as Salesforce is still bringing new innovations. In this release, Salesforce has redone the designers to have a more similar look-and-feel to the Flow Builder UI. There do not seem to be any functional improvements and rather this is a purely UI/UX change.

LWC Cart Enhancements

While this looks promising and the notes mention performance improvements and more flexibility with the LWC Cart, we were not able to find more details on how to configure this, or specifically what is new with the LWC Cart. Read more.

Asset Disconnect Scheduler

This provides an out of the box mechanism for disconnecting assets at the end of their contract term. Previously, the assets would remain active unless a user manually raises a MACD to disconnect them or customization is done to build a similar scheduled job. Read more.

Force Refresh Decision Tables

Decision Tables have a caching mechanism built on top of the data that they store, to ensure that they provide the best possible performance. Closing Thoughts

In general, the Winter ’25 release brings a lot of new features and improvements across the whole Communications, Media, and Energy & Utilities Cloud space, including Omnistudio and Business Rules Engine. We see Salesforce doubling down on the integration of Salesforce Industries in the Salesforce core platform.

Our key highlights are the integration of some Revenue Lifecycle Management (RLM) modules in Communications, Media, and Energy Clouds, specifically with Salesforce Pricing and Salesforce Contracts (as well as Product Catalog Management (PCM) for only Energy & Utilities Cloud). We are happy to see continued innovation in the Omnistudio space as well.

In our next post, we will share our highlights of the Winter ’25 release notes for Revenue Lifecycle Management (RLM).
