Communication: We can’t live without it but we can manage it.

Communication: We can’t live without it but we can manage it.

Communication is the glue that holds communities together which makes the ambiguity of communication, a critical issue. As social beings, we are dependent on communication in so many ways. Because of the similar early age upbringing, the tolerance level for misinterpretations is greater than in communities that live far apart. It’s called “the Reactive empirical bond order, and the chemistry between us.”

The reactive empirical bond-order (REBO) model is a function for calculating the potential energy of chemical bonds between people. It has some effect on the efficiency of communication.?Proximity and sympathy.? (REBO) reinforces the assumption that social closeness has a profound effect on the efficiency of communication.

?

The troubles and virtues of communication.

Communication can be informative as well as causing misinformation, but in any event, it contributes to cognition. Miscommunication occurs more often than we think.??

The conventional reaction is to brush the mishap caused by miscommunication under the preverbal carpet and to move on, expecting that the recipient of the faulty communication will forgive the incident. In reality, however, even a seemingly insignificant communication blunder can taint a previously good relationship. It can raise suspicion and, in some cases, become a signal of cautiousness towards the person or the institute that created the miscommunication.

In essence, communication indicates the willingness to reach out to others and a readiness to receive information. Improved communication is used to deceive as well as to reach a better understanding of a conflict situation.????

We cannot be diligent enough about communication, because the recipients are biased and predisposed, and therefore the chances of being misunderstood are far greater than the chances of being understood.??Communication can divert your attention, it can change your opinion, your beliefs, and your convictions.?It is a navigator of the mind. The lack of communication causes misunderstanding and ultimately psychological stress. The abundance of communication causes confusion and conflicts.

“I know what I want to convey, but it didn’t come out right”.

Throughout human evolution, the desire to communicate gave impetus to a better understanding of what is necessary to improve living conditions. However, the widespread of virtual communication changed the balance of this paradigm. It became clear that conveying is significantly more in demand than the need to receive information. The exponential growth of internet connectivity leads people to believe that being heard and seen is advantageous, even though in terms of progression, receiving information is much more beneficial.? As far as learning is concerned, the balance of supply and demand skews more towards an oversupply of information. While the technical part of communication has advanced greatly, achieving a mutual understanding remains a challenge. Communication is bound by many aspects, and not just by the formulation of thoughts. ?

What sparks the periodic rise of communication? It appears that a rise in economic well-being invertedly pushes the communication paradigm up and that communication thrives in communities that are ethnically more diverse.? While the conditions and the circumstances of societies have changed drastically over time, we can never the less draw some presumptions from historical socio-economic events. For example, the immense communication development during the Achaemenid Empire, under the rule of Cyrus the Great. Some 2600 years ago society experienced a transformative breakthrough in communication. Written language became a vital tool of communication amongst a diverse society comprised of many different ethnical groups. It evolved in the most prosperous empire of the time, the Achaemenid Empire.?The economic opportunity provided by the Tigris–Euphrates Rivers system attracted folks from as far away as Eastern Europe to Achaemenid. The diversity of the folks created a socio-economic situation that called for a regulated administration which brought about the first documented Peoples Bill of Rights. ???

Back to the present communication status. There are 7,164 languages in use today, of which the usage of 23 languages account for the communication platform of more than half of the world's population. ?600 million people are communicating in Chinese Mandarin, while the total number of English speakers is 140 million. Even though more people are speaking Mandarin Chinese, English is being used by more speakers than Chinese Mandarin speakers. This peculiarity can be attributed to the economic leadership of the United States for the past 246 years.??? ??

Closing the communication gap.

One way of closing a communication gap is by challenging the contravening opposition to a dialogue. It lets participants draw their conclusions based on additional information.? The specialized diversification approach is an entrepreneurial trait approach.? It is risky because the diversified outcomes can be interpreted in many ways. However, it is far more engaging than the ?pursuance of a “winning at all costs communication strategy.”? Admitting to weak points before some people point out miscommunication, can reduce suspicion and disbelief. ??

?There are 2 constraints.? 1) The lack of validated information about the underpinning data of the content, especially when the communication lacks sufficient comparative information. ???? 2) Retaining trust credit from previous experiences. There is a tendency to bestow trust credit on someone who has proven true and straightforward on previous occasions. This predisposition is a powerful tool that communicators should keep in mind.

Best regards, Alex.
