Is communication through mapping becoming difficult and only for the happy few?
For all kinds of minor and major global purposes, mapping becomes more and more necessary and therefor also more sophisticated. New digital techniques are incorporated and very fine intelligent digital derivatives are a daily phenomena. While this mappingsituation keeps on growing skyhigh, my friends, neighbours, students and even scientists, not connected to the mapping subjects, are unable to retract and understand the information on the map.
Are we only focussed on (popular) high-tech digital techniques or do we we want to communicate with our audience?
What happened ? Did we miss something? Do we have to go back to basics or is a map nowadays a piece of highly intellectual standards and sorry, if you do not understand, just not suitable for you?
