Communication Skills; a circular learning process
A classic attribute of communication other than the 7 C’s listed in business literature stays that a communicator at his best has to be a good listener at the same time. Communication skill is one gift among many others that if not groomed out of innate talent fills the space with misunderstanding when a discussion needs two way process of exchange of knowledge and creates misapprehension when one tends to lead by commanding on others. It has come to general observation that when an individual lacks confidence of listening to others is prone to insecurity issues in his / her own personality. A general discussion can be deemed as healthy and dynamic when an information has been transferred through listening and gaining insights of the other individual while communicating yours despite of having difference of opinion. A good conversationalist is also a better judge of his auditors by welcoming their thought processes by keeping his statement intact so as not lose integrity when it comes to different level of crowd. As I have mentioned in my book “Reclaim your life”, that the general public has taken the meaning of diplomacy altogether at a very low level by changing their statements with the change of the crowd. The controversy is categorically the path down to an individual’s reliability.
Listen, in order to communicate and not judge.
Communicate, in order to convey and not to prove yourself right.
Show diplomacy, in order to be respectful and not lose one’s own authenticity.
