Communication Matters: Repetition

Consider that each person is exposed to 4,000 to 10,000 messages a day! Will yours get through this onslaught of information? Repeat -- repeat -- repeat. This is the single most important key to communication success.
According to Forbes magazine, “to be memorable, communication must be clear and concise, presented in a form that doesn't overwhelm the audience with unwanted or unessential data that hides the message in a lot of noise and makes it impossible to retain or to act upon.â€
How can you focus on your overall message? SOCO is a Single Overriding Communications Objective. Companies routinely sabotage themselves by trying to tack additional messages unaligned with their SOCO. Too many different messages mean your audience will retain nothing. For instance, I work to provide clients with communication guidance. Sure, our team can tackle numerous marketing research engagements. But instead, we must be single-minded. Beginning in 1992, potential clients contacted us for help in product tests, sales strategies, packaging studies, new product forecasting and so on, yet we stuck with our SOCO.
We have managed many communication engagements to help clients – both research and consulting. We managed studies for a variety of clients centering on how to measure and improve strategies. Please write or call to learn more.
