Communication is key
Have you ever tried to fix something around the house without the right tools? Maybe you've been attempting to tighten a screw with a butter knife or hammer a nail with a shoe. It might seem like you're making progress, but in reality, you're just making the task more difficult and frustrating than it needs to be.
The same is true when it comes to #communication . If we try to communicate without the right #tools or #skills , we can make the situation worse than it needs to be. That's why learning and practising practical communication skills is essential, just like we would know and use the right tools for a home repair project.
Communication is something that we all struggle with from time to time. As men, we often feel pressure to hide our #emotions and #vulnerabilities , creating difficulties in our personal and professional relationships.
But let's not forget what the Bible teaches us about communication. Ephesians 4:15 tells us to speak the truth in love, and Proverbs 15:1 reminds us that a gentle answer can diffuse a tense situation. And how about Jesus himself? He wasn't afraid to show his emotions and vulnerability when he wept for his friend Lazarus or expressed his anguish in the Garden of Gethsemane.
So, what can we do to apply these biblical principles in our daily lives? Here are some practical steps:
First, let's #acknowledge our emotions and understand that expressing them appropriately is okay. "It is better to be honest, and poor than dishonest and rich. We may make our plans, but God has the last word." - Proverbs 16:8-9 (GNT)
We can talk to a trusted friend or counsellor, journal, or pray for guidance and comfort.

Secondly, let's make a #conscious effort to practice active listening. My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry." - James 1:19 (NIV)
This means listening to the needs and concerns of those around us, asking questions, and avoiding interrupting or dismissing their thoughts and feelings.
Lastly, let's not be afraid to #seek help when needed. "Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed." - Proverbs 15:22 (NIV)
It's not a sign of #weakness to ask for help or guidance from a pastor, mentor, or professional counsellor.
These verses emphasize the importance of honesty, humility, and seeking help when needed. By following these biblical principles, we can communicate more effectively and build deeper relationships with those around us.
Remember, communication is crucial in building more profound and meaningful relationships with those around us. Let's follow the example of Jesus and strive to communicate with love, gentleness, and vulnerability.
Take care, and God bless,
