Communicating Science: expanded Research Methods chapter

If you are not aware, I independently published Communicating Science, an introductory science communication book, in 2014. Feedback has been positive. I received a few requests to expand Chapter 4 (Research Methodology).

I am a lecturer, and not active in research. I am looking for feedback on this expanded chapter from people active in all forms of scientific research. The updated chapter is available at

In addition to the content review, I am looking for end-of-chapter assessments for the material in Chapter 4.
