Communicating Concepts in 3D Spatial Dimension using Dynamic Geometry Software in Primary School Mathematics.
Are there any sponsors or leads I can Follow for funding this research?
Description.
Integrating Information Communication Technology (ICT) into the Curriculum Statement through the development and use of a web based platform for teaching and learning mathematics. Exploring primary maths teaching and learning in linguistically diverse learner population classes in Post Apartheid South Africa using 3D Dynamic Geometry Software, presentation software and translation tools. This will present an opportunity to explore the dimensions of the dynamic and critically important mobile applications tools.
Context of Research
Today's learners are digitally inclined and the teaching and learning environment worldwide, is being rapidly transformed often as a result of information and communication technologies (ICT). These changes have produced new information sources and new learning processes, which have reshaped the the role of the teacher. Teachers must integrate learning and ICT. These views emanated from proceedings of the ICT Conference held in Cape Town, “Transforming Teacher Education - ICT for Teaching and Learning”.
Successful integration of ICT in the learning environment has pedagogical and language development imperatives. The development of learning material must consider:-
communication theory ( auditory and visual stimuli, dual-coding theory and cognition overload), and
language development in learners ( epistemology, orthography, semiotics, word acquisition, categorical concept formation and meaningful sentence formation).
Provision of a learning assessment tool.
Grammatically correct written and oral language use.
