COMMUNICATE PERSONALLY

COMMUNICATE PERSONALLY

As often as possible, and especially when delivering difficult or complex messages, it’s better to speak to someone personally rather than communicate through Email or text. Intent can be misinterpreted in writing. Go! If you can’t go, then call. If you can’t call, then write.

There is no better way to effectively communicate with another person than doing so in person. Personal communication happens when two people are attentive of one another. When people’s eyes meet, the communication has just begun. They then notice one another’s body language, tone inflection, and get a sense of what is really being communicated, which they cannot get from emailing, texting or calling.

Effective and clear communication, without a doubt, is the most important element in any business. The most important skill you need at Eastern is communication. Our ability to compete and thrive mandates that we must engage in effective communication.

Effective communication helps to … build good relationships, build effective teams, prevent misunderstandings, improve customer service, facilitates innovation, ensures transparency and fuels company growth. Author Paul J. Meyer said, “Communication - the human connection - is the key to personal and career success.”

Now, let’s go out and make it a great week, seeking to communicate more – in person.

I so agree with you about the value of face to face interaction in communication. May you be blessed in 2019

Fantastic message Kip.? There are few things more powerful than face-to-face communication.??The word "attentive" strikes a particular nerve with me.? I?strive to be "fully attentive" when I communicate but it's something that definitely takes?focus and heightened self-awareness.? I appreciate you bringing its importance?back to the surface for me.??????????

Eastern is a wonderful organization, with a great culture of caring for the individual. Everything they do reflects their Christian values, and their team members are better for it. I wish everyone at Eastern the very best in 2019!
