Communicate - Be Inspired - Create a Story

A few years ago, while working on a teaching philosophy statement, it provided me an opportunity to reflect on what teaching means for me.? I believe it is the passion to not only communicate concepts to learners but by taking a holistic approach to learning, it provides a more immersive experience. If I can inspire, even a few, through that passion, then that is what educating for me is truly about.

I apply the same thought process to creative writing and for those who wish to write and develop a story, through the same holistic approach to teaching, I believe it assists in giving them an opportunity to express.?

We all have the right to communicate in whatever creative form that suits us. For me, it is the writing process, the ability to convey emotion, thoughts, concepts, through the development of plots and characters. Others might find different mediums, and that is the power of creativity.

When it comes to Ben Kesp Writers Hub workshops, it is my hope to inspire even a few to go further, and write something that is meaningful to them, whether it is a short story, a novel, a screenplay, poetry, memoir or more. Therefore, the concept of the Writer Book Series, starting with “Develop the Craft of Writing” is a way to assist writers with a grounding of the writing process, and take those first steps in writing what will eventually lead to a first piece of work.

Find you voice, allow it grow and develop over time. Practice observation, an important component for imagery.? There is much you can do before you start the writing. As an exercise, reflect on why you want to write. What is it that you want to express? Be true to yourself, and, most importantly, enjoy the experience of writing.
