When I saw Michael Ashford 's name pop up on the podcast calendar, I got super excited.

I knew this was going to be a fantastic episode because I was getting to talk to somebody who actually understands the art of asking questions.

Even still - our conversation exceeded my expectations.

In this episode, Michael helps listeners to challenge the traditional ways we think about difficult conversations.?

Counterintuitively - he encourages listeners to enter conversations without the goal of changing their counterpart’s mind.

Ironically, and powerfully, this strategy can be the very thing that ends up changing their minds anyway - but that shouldn’t be the goal.

As a society, we haven’t been taught how to listen well. Instead, our education system teaches us to find and confirm the right answer.

This can be great in some contexts, but counterproductive when we’re seeking meaningful communication.

This episode is perfect for those struggling to navigate extremely tense or polarizing conversations and dynamics - in life and business.

Kwame, I mean it when I say this was truly one of the best podcast interviews I've ever done thanks to your willingness to bring curiosity to our conversation and by pushing me to go a level or two deeper. When I read your book, I knew we would vibe big-time, and that was absolutely the case. I am honored to have been a guest on your show, and I cannot wait to release your episode on my podcast as well. Your work is so vitally important, and we need more voices like yours. Bravo, sir!
