CommScope’s New 6-beam Antennas Helps to Support Increased Three UK and Three Ireland’s Network Data Usage at a Series of Special Events

Festival goers reportedly experienced increased mobile network capacity on the Three UK and Three Ireland networks at a series of large events this summer in the UK and Ireland, supported by the use of CommScope’s new multibeam antenna technology.

HICKORY, N.C., October 4, 2023 – Three UK and Three Ireland both utilized CommScope’s (NASDAQ: COMM) newly-developed 6-beam antennas to support an increase in mobile data demand at some of the largest events in the UK and Ireland over the summer months.

With the traffic growth being delivered by increased usage on both 4G and 5G networks, both Three UK and Three Ireland used the 6-beam antenna to help manage both the increased mobile capacity and coverage at several large-scale events.

Three UK’s customers benefited from the UK’s Fastest 5G network* supported by the innovative CommScope? technology at some of the most widely attended events of the summer, including the King’s Coronation in London’s Hyde Park and Green Park, the Glastonbury music festival in Somerset, the Isle of Wight Festival in Hampshire, Reading and Leeds Festivals, the Wireless Festival in London, and at Silverstone Race circuit to support the F1 and Moto GP race events.

Customers of Three Ireland benefited at a series of concerts at St Anne’s Park in Dublin, Electric Picnic in Co. Laois and All Together Now Festival in Co. Waterford.

“It has been a pleasure working with both Three UK and Three Ireland to support their special events programs in their respective markets. The compact size of the 6VV-10A-F6 6-beam antennas, which support 1695-2690 MHz LTE spectrum, allows them to be installed on temporary masts, which can be taken down and redeployed at any other special events location,” stated Jonathan Hicks, UK & Ireland Sales Manager, Outdoor Wireless Networks, CommScope. “Their 6-beam feature allows coverage to be directed to where the crowds gather and provide increased capacity where it’s needed most.”

With the reported boost in capacity and increased 4G upload/download speeds, revelers were able to enjoy a very positive user experience at these large outside events, allowing them to share some of summer’s most iconic moments.

David Hennessy, Chief Technology Officer at Three UK and Three Ireland said: “At both Three UK and Three Ireland, keeping our customers connected while they enjoy memorable events and experiences is extremely important to us. In support of this, we were delighted to partner with CommScope and their new multibeam antenna technology.

We’re proud that Three UK and Three Ireland’s networks have the fastest 5G in each country* and continue to provide a great experience for customers of both networks.” *Based on analysis by Ookla? of Speedtest Intelligence? data for Q1-Q2 2023.
