Unboring comms training that taps into your creativity, grows your confidence and helps you make a powerful impact
I'm lucky my job involves a great deal of fun stuff.
Because each course is always updated with new research and techniques and development, I get time in my schedule to discover, read, interrogate and think!
What a luxury.? I know in comms, most of us are so busy getting through a to do list longer than the Trans-Siberian Railway, that we rarely get enough time to think and be creative.
So pat on the back to you for taking a few minutes to read this, and if you want to book a course into your diary, we'll make sure it's time you spend with lightbulbs aplenty popping above your head.
Come on then, let's get on with it...

Comms Creatives content of the week
COTW comes from the Natural History Museum, London on TikTok.
They’re asking: ‘What’s your favourite rock?’ and have?used an edited version of?the tune 'Roxanne' from the Police in the background.?
Many organisations think they can’t do humour or be in any way silly on their socials.
'Is it professional?'
It's always a judgement call - but in this case is a big 'YES'. How else can this museum?reach so many people in a positive way and get them talking about their favourite rock, other?than by using humour and a classic song?
The humour doesn’t undermine and take away from their artefacts, but it’s an effective way to get their audience involved and talking.
This TikTok is a great example of using humour as a strategy to reach a wider audience and engage them.
I’ve just started writing a book about how comms pros can use humour in their social media, so I've been doing lots of fun research, and I love how loads of museums are using amusement as a way to keep them relevant and visible to new and existing audiences.
*Corny joke interlude: Did you hear Sting went?missing? Right now The Police have no?leads*
Inspire yourself?
If you’re not already on TikTok using trends, now is the time to just explore it and see how all sorts of brands are embracing?a less heavy, more humorous conversation.
Spend five minutes finding some brands you admire and see what they’re doing on TikTok. Even if it's unwritten, part of our jobs is the thinking?and research as well as creation - and inspiration can come from anywhere.? If you want some help with taking your brand's social media to the next level like this, we have the next TikTok course on the way, and in?our Social Media Expert Course, we explore ways to mix in lighter content types and take some of the corporate stiffness from our tone of voice.
